About Provider

About Marie

I have spent my career helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. Whether you’re struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, or a major life transition, I believe mental health care should feel like a partnership, not a transaction. My role is not simply to treat symptoms, but to understand the person behind them, recognize their strengths, and help create a path toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.

I take a collaborative, whole-person approach that combines evidence-based treatment with genuine connection. Together, we identify strengths, address barriers to growth, and develop practical strategies to improve emotional wellbeing, relationships, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

Whatever brings you to treatment, know that you do not have to face it alone. Healing is a process, and I am committed to providing the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to help you move forward with confidence and hope.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a psychiatric provider because I have always been drawn to helping people navigate challenges that affect their quality of life and overall well-being. Throughout my career in pediatrics, neurology, and mental health, I have seen how emotional and behavioral struggles can impact not only individuals, but entire families. I was inspired to pursue psychiatry so I could provide more comprehensive care and help people better understand themselves, build resilience, and create meaningful change. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing clients gain confidence, overcome obstacles, and recognize strengths they may not have seen in themselves.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work especially well with people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or frustrated by challenges that are affecting their daily lives. Whether it’s ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, or a major life transition, I enjoy helping clients gain clarity, identify their strengths, and develop practical strategies that lead to meaningful progress. I also have extensive experience supporting children, teens, young adults, and parents as they navigate developmental, behavioral, academic, and emotional challenges.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that they have more power than they realize to change their lives. Healing begins with believing that change is possible and having the courage to take the first step. Therapy and medication can be valuable tools, but nothing can replace the impact of self-belief, resilience, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session, I focus on listening and understanding your story. I want to learn about what brought you to treatment, the challenges you’re facing, and what you hope will be different in your life. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, discuss potential treatment options, and create a plan that feels realistic and achievable. My goal is for clients to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path forward.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

As a Haitian American and a mother of three, I understand many of the challenges that come with navigating change, overcoming self-doubt, and balancing life’s many responsibilities. Moving to the United States at a young age required me to adapt to a new culture, learn a new language, and find a sense of belonging while pursuing ambitious goals. These experiences taught me resilience, perseverance, and the importance of believing in yourself even when the path forward feels uncertain. They continue to shape my approach to care by helping me appreciate each person’s unique story, strengths, and capacity for growth.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor treatment by taking the time to understand each client’s unique story, experiences, strengths, and goals. No two people are alike, so I believe therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all process. I work to identify how each client learns and what approaches are most likely to help them succeed. My focus is not simply on completing worksheets or discussing problems, but on helping clients develop practical skills they can apply in their daily lives. By making small, meaningful changes over time, clients can build confidence, gain momentum, and move closer to the goals that matter most to them.
