About Jane

I am Jane Abiona, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. I work with people who are emotionally trapped, feel overworked, or struggle to perform at their best. Whether your objectives are recovery, emotional balance, medication management, or symptom relief, I am here to help you achieve meaningful wellbeing.

My approach combines medication management with supportive treatment, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. In a secure, judgment-free setting, I customize treatment to each client's objectives, helping them develop resilience, coping mechanisms, and emotional wellness.

Asking for help is a courageous first step; you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Every client should feel heard, appreciated, understood, and empowered in addition to having a well-defined recovery strategy. I am excited to support you as you pursue improved mental health and a more fulfilling life.

Get to know Jane

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My sincere desire to assist individuals in enhancing their mental well-being and general quality of life led me to pursue a career in psychiatry. Everyone should, in my opinion, experience compassion, support, and a sense of being heard. Partnering with people as they overcome obstacles, develop resilience, and bring about significant, long-lasting change is immensely fulfilling. My objective is to create a secure, accepting atmosphere where patients feel empowered to actively participate in their own recovery.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with adults and teenagers who are driven to enhance their general well-being and mental health. Helping people with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, PTSD, and sleeplessness is something I like doing. I offer compassionate, tailored therapy that enables clients to feel heard, acquire useful coping strategies, and make significant progress toward their objectives, regardless of whether they are dealing with a new difficulty or a chronic illness.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish every client understood that they don't have to face challenging times by themselves. Therapy is a judgment-free, safe place to be seen, heard, and understood. Setbacks do not indicate failure; rather, they offer chances for personal development and increased selfawareness. Healing is not a linear process. Positive change is achievable with the correct help, perseverance, and dedication. It is my responsibility to accompany clients, assist them in identifying their strengths, and offer resources that promote long-term emotional wellness.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Clients may anticipate a warm, courteous, and nonjudgmental setting during the initial session as we take the time to learn about their issues, background, objectives, and present difficulties. We will talk about symptoms, available treatments, and create a customized strategy that may involve counseling, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and coping mechanisms. Building trust, comprehending each client's particular needs, and cooperating to make significant progress and enhance well-being are my main priorities during the early phases of care.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Compassion, respect, cultural understanding, and the conviction that everyone has the capacity to recover and develop serve as the foundation for my work. Being born in England, growing up in Nigeria, and working with people from all backgrounds are just a few of the varied experiences that have molded my perspective of the value of listening without passing judgment and respecting each person's distinct journey. I cherish establishing a secure, encouraging atmosphere where patients feel empowered, understood, and actively involved in their care.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Since each client's background, objectives, and experiences are different, I create customized therapy programs that are suited to their particular requirements. I take the time to listen, comprehend each person's worries, and work with them to make treatment decisions. I assist clients build on their strengths and create long-lasting changes in their mental health and quality of life by combining evidencebased therapy, medication management where appropriate, education, and useful coping methods.
