About Raymond

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with experience in psychiatry, oncology, and nursing education. I work with adolescents and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and life transitions. Many of the individuals I support are seeking greater emotional balance, improved focus, healthier coping strategies, and personalized treatment to help them function more confidently in their personal, academic, and professional lives.

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and focused on practical, evidence-based care. I believe clients should feel informed and actively involved in their treatment, so I take time to help individuals better understand their symptoms, treatment options, and progress. I strive to create a judgment-free space where clients feel heard and empowered.

Seeking support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate things alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful progress at your own pace. When you are ready, I welcome the opportunity to support you on your mental health journey.

Get to know Raymond

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a psychiatric provider after recognizing how often mental health needs were overlooked in medical settings and how difficult it could be for individuals to access compassionate, supportive care. My experiences working in primary care and healthcare showed me the strong connection between mental and physical health, while also highlighting the impact of stigma surrounding mental health in many communities and families. I wanted to help create a space where people feel heard, understood, and comfortable seeking support without judgment.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with adolescents and adults who are motivated to better understand their mental health and develop practical strategies for improving their daily lives. I especially enjoy working with individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and life transitions, including students, professionals, and highachieving individuals balancing demanding schedules and responsibilities. I strive to create an open-minded, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. My approach is collaborative and focused on helping clients feel more confident, emotionally balanced, and empowered in their personal and professional lives.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that healing is not about being “perfect” or having everything figured out overnight. Mental health is a journey, and meaningful progress often comes from small, consistent steps over time. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness, and you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Therapy and mental health care should feel collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your individual needs and goals.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, clients can expect a supportive, openminded, and judgment-free space where we discuss their concerns, symptoms, personal history, and goals for treatment. I take time to understand the whole person, not just the diagnosis, and I encourage clients to ask questions and actively participate in their care. During the early stages of treatment, we focus on building rapport, identifying patterns or stressors, developing practical coping strategies, and creating a personalized plan that supports progress and longterm well-being.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is deeply influenced by my experiences working across both medical and mental health settings, where I witnessed how often emotional struggles can go unrecognized or untreated. I also understand the impact that stigma, cultural expectations, and family experiences can have on how people view mental health and seeking support. These experiences have shaped my commitment to providing compassionate, open-minded, and culturally sensitive care where clients feel respected, heard, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe mental health care should never be one-size-fitsall. I tailor treatment by taking time to understand each client’s unique background, experiences, goals, strengths, and challenges. I adjust my approach based on the client’s individual needs, whether that includes supportive therapy, psychoeducation, medication management, practical coping strategies, or a combination of approaches. My goal is to create a collaborative treatment experience where clients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their care.
