About Provider

About Arlinda

Arlinda is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) who treats a diverse range of mental health concerns including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, insomnia, and women's issues. She is committed to working collaboratively and compassionately with clients to identify the best treatment options as part of a holistic plan of care for both adolescents and adults. She considers her role to be multifaceted: managing medications, providing education, therapy, and mental health advocacy.

Arlinda has spent nearly three decades in the field of nursing, knowing from childhood that her calling was to help people. She has an innate ability to quickly establish a positive rapport with nearly everyone she meets, has strong clinical skills, and has a talent for discovering the right medication combinations for each unique individual. She completed her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Medical College of Georgia and her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University. Arlinda likes to incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques into her practice, believing firmly that your inner thoughts (whether accurate or not) play a large role in your emotional/mental health. In the past, she has functioned as a telemetry, ICU, ER, and travel RN, as well as a nurse manager and more recently a clinical services manager. In her free time, Arlinda enjoys reading, dancing, hiking, and playing with her French bulldog.

I believe every person has a history that has shaped who they are. I also believe that individuals can change and create a better life for themselves, no matter what their history has been. I have overcome many obstacles in my life and worked hard to pursue my goals and dreams. I have a positive attitude and am a very nurturing person. I am confident that that can support you in your pursuit of a better life by guiding you towards new techniques and perspectives that will help you cope with whatever you are currently struggling with. If you are ready to get started today, schedule an appointment with me!

Get to know Arlinda

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?

I have always been fascinated by complexity of the human mind and the link between our thoughts and feelings. I have seen first-hand the positive impact that mental health care can have in a person's life and I am passionate about helping others discover this as well.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I love connecting with everyone! However, the clients I have witnessed gain the most improvement were ones who were willing to challenge themselves and be temporarily uncomfortable talking about and working through their feelings and tough issues.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

That it is possible to feel better, cope better, and improve your life if you have the courage to do so. And that help is available!

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I love that Thriveworks offers telehealth, after-hours, and quick appointments in order to improve availability for client's busy lives.

What inspires you?

Honesty and courage.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Our first priority will be to establish trust and a collaborative working relationship. After that, a lot of listening but also a lot of questions so that I can get to know you and understand your concerns. And finally, some initial discussion of your goals and some possible treatment options.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I am non-judgmental and will meet you where you are.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love to dance! Particularly country or ballroom partner dancing.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My sense of humor.

Does Arlinda prescribe medications effective for ADHD? (Non-stimulant & stimulant medications?)

Yes! Arlinda is a part of the Thriveworks ADHD Clinic and can prescribe medications that are effective in treating ADHD.
