Get to know Nicole

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Many of my family members struggle with mental illness, and I have learned how to navigate my own really well. I became a counselor to learn more, as well as help others on their own journey to self love within mental health.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with adults who are working through life changes, identity, and managing anxiety and moods.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I get most excited to work with clients who are learning about themselves and how to create their own boundaries, as well as working through painful experiences and trauma.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Self-esteem goes up and down as well as emotions, but self compassion can be constant through all life experiences.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I like the flexibility to work with different populations that I work best with.

What inspires you?

I am inspired when hearing about other's lived experiences and the courage it takes to be open and vulnerable with their emotions. I get inspired when client's have pivotal moments in therapy that relieves a lot of hurt and begins healing.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

I want to answer any questions and provide as much information as possible to make a client feel as comfortable as possible. I encourage feedback at all times if there is something I can accommodate to make a better experience.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I believe in diversity, equity and inclusion.
