About Kaitlin
I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with 12 years of experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. My background in art therapy allows me to approach healing creatively and holistically, while also providing traditional talk therapy. I work with clients who are ready to explore change—whether that means making active shifts, gaining clarity about what they want, or simply understanding what therapy can offer.
I earned my master's in professional studies in art therapy from The School of Visual Arts. My approach is blended and adaptable, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness-based practices, somatic techniques, and person-centered care to meet each client’s evolving needs.
Taking steps toward better mental health can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to do it alone. I provide a judgment-free space with active, empathetic listening, thoughtful questions, and practical tools to help you build on your strengths and move forward with clarity and confidence.

"Hi! I am here to support you with warmth, compassion, and, sometimes, a dollop of humor."

What types of clients do you work best with?
I typically work with individuals ages 18-60, with the bulk of my experience being with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I also provide support to those navigating life's stresses or who just need a safe space to vent or do a little mental health maintenance. While I do not have specific certifications in LGBTQ+ topics, I am also happy to provide any support that I can.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy is weird! It's very different from how we usually do relationships because even with a very personable therapist, it's a lot of one-way sharing and sometimes being uncomfortable on purpose. Everyone has a different experience with it and it takes time to find your stride with it. But it's worth it!
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session tends to be what I call paperwork-y and will likely not feel quite how you'd expect a regular therapy session to feel. After that, the pace is up to you. Some people like to move slowly, others are ready to put rubber to the road. I tend to take a fairly organic approach to therapy, so we'll figure out as we go what works best for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Everybody can do something, everybody brings something to the table, even if it's hard to see at first. Everyone has a strength we can build on.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I'll ask a lot of questions, especially in the initial session, about what you would like to get out of therapy.
