About William
I am William Watson, a Licensed Social Worker Supervisee with 2 years of experience. Shaped by a working-class, single-parent upbringing, I bring lived experiences and strong clinical training to my work. I support adolescents and adults facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, stress, and life transitions. My goal is to provide steady guidance and practical support as a respectful partner who values honesty, feedback, and collaboration.
I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Arkansas and blend evidence-informed care with lived experience. My sessions emphasize practical tools, steady structure, and clear goals to help clients build confidence and skills between visits.
I know that starting therapy can feel overwhelming. That’s why I focus on creating a safe, respectful space where you can move at your own pace. If you are looking for practical strategies and a collaborative therapist who meets you where you are, I welcome you to reach out because you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

"Growing up in a working-class, single-parent home shaped my empathy, and I bring personal and professional experience to meet each client with authenticity and care."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor because of my own experiences navigating stress and life transitions, along with the meaningful support I received along the way. These experiences inspired my commitment to providing clients with understanding, guidance, and a safe space to grow.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with adolescents and adults who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and life transitions. I also connect well with clients who value practical tools, clear goals, and a collaborative approach to building resilience and confidence.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are motivated to better understand themselves and open to learning new strategies for growth.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that therapy is not about having everything figured out. It’s about showing up as you are and together finding the steps that move you forward.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their commitment to accessible, high-quality mental health care and their support for clinicians in providing client-centered services. I value being part of a team that prioritizes compassion, collaboration, and growth.

I am inspired by seeing clients discover their own strengths and make meaningful progress toward their goals. I also draw inspiration from my family, mentors, and the resilience of the people I work with every day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect me to focus on getting to know them, listening to their story, and learning what they hope to gain from therapy. I understand that it can take time to build comfort and trust, while also discussing practical goals to guide the work ahead.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I aim to create a safe and welcoming space, build trust, and begin understanding the client’s needs and goals so they feel supported and heard from the start.

Clients should know that I bring both personal and professional experience to my work, value authenticity, and focus on meeting each person where they are with respect and practical support.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, my dog, reading, and watching movies.
