About Tabatha
I am a Resident in Counseling with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. My background includes counseling, social work case management, and compliance work with individuals experiencing serious mental illness. I have supported clients navigating trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and complex life transitions, offering care that is compassionate, grounded, and client centered.
I earned my master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. I completed clinical training in both a women’s shelter for survivors of domestic violence and a private counseling practice. My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, emphasizing safety, trust, collaboration, and emotional awareness.
I am especially passionate about supporting grief, including pet loss, and honoring experiences that are often overlooked or minimized. I strive to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal at a pace that feels right for you.

"Having personally navigated trauma and loss, I create a safe, empathetic space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered on their healing journey."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I have witnessed, both personally and professionally, how deeply impactful trauma, loss, a major life transitions can be and how these things can affect one's sense of self and well-being. I want to be a safe space to help others feel heard and supported as they navigate through difficult life experiences.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals experiencing grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions who value a supportive, nonjudgmental approach and are open to personal growth at their own pace.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
When you have a safe and compassionate space to explore your experiences and challenges, it paves the way for greater self-awareness, healing, and meaningful change
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first few sessions are meant for building trust in the therapeutic relationship. It is an opportunity for individuals to feel heard in a calm, nonjudgmental space. We will review important background information, discuss what clients wish to gain out of the therapeutic experience, and determine what will help the client feel most supported to work towards reaching their therapeutic goals.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My approach to therapy is guided by a strong appreciation for how experiences such as grief, loss, family dynamics, and early adversity shape who we are. I believe that healing begins when individuals are given a safe, compassionate space to explore their life story and feel supported. Because suffering is an inevitable part of being human, I value the role of connection and community in helping individuals build resilience and move forward with greater strength and understanding.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy works best when it is tailored to each client's unique needs. I take time to understand each client's story, preferences, and goals, and adapt my approach to support them in a way that works best for their needs.
