Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Just as adversity is part of the human condition, our ability to overcome it is a reality. Being part of these journeys fosters a sense of purpose.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Any adult client brave enough to meet in the therapy room and walk this healing journey.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with clients who engage in their therapeutic process, are curious about their patterns, embrace vulnerability, explore their authentic emotions, are willing to try new strategies, and communicate openly.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Through neuroplasticity, our brains possess the power to overcome challenges. Curves and bumps are normal parts of the growth road, providing opportunities to flex your strengths. It is possible to live your life on your terms!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks provides accessible, high-quality mental health care and creates a supportive environment for clients and clinicians.
What inspires you?
Suffering and pain are inevitable parts of our life stories. I am in awe of the human's innate ability to overcome adversity and the transformative power of therapy. Witnessing clients' resilience and strengths in navigating their lives is inspirational.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect a review of informed consent, cancellation policy, billing procedures, communication preferences, and information on the therapeutic process. We will also explore your biopsychosocial background, present needs, and goals for therapy and answer any questions you may have. Depending on your needs, I may introduce some strategies.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, my primary goal is to build rapport and create a safe space for you to talk to me and begin a therapeutic alliance. I am invested in hearing your voice by exploring your biopsychosocial background and for you to feel heard and understood. Also, you will assess if a therapeutic partnership is possible. I am here to support you on this journey and hopeful about the positive changes we can achieve together.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a session, you should know I am committed to your well-being and growth. Your voice, as the expert of you, guides me in our collaboration. I bring an integrative approach to therapy, valuing your individuality, experiences, and feedback. I'm committed to fostering a supportive space that encourages self-discovery, growth, and healing
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, trying new recipes, being crafty, and hiking with my dog. I am passionate about traveling and exploring other countries' cultures, cuisines, and natural landscapes.
