Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I wanted to become a therapist after experiencing my own trials and tribulations with my own mental health and not knowing where to turn for help (or how to exactly help myself). Going forward, I always wanted to be able to provide a space for people who may be going through their own versions of those feelings, may not know how to address these challenges or issues, or just want support when going through life. So, I dedicated my life to helping individuals with various life challenges and mental health needs. I have thoroughly enjoyed helping others thus far and continue to look forward to supporting others in the future!
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with those who are ready to begin their therapeutic journey, ready/open to work with me, and who are open to exploring various challenges within their lives. I recognize that everyone is different as they share their stories and I will support you, wherever you may want to start in your therapeutic journey.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I enjoy how Thriveworks is set up to support the individual and the counselor working together during treatment!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first session, we will start by completing the initial intake process. This can be challenging for some as it may feel like sharing your story with someone you don't know and may not trust. That is perfectly understandable! We can start with some basic things that you may want to work on initially before sharing your story or other challenges you may be experiencing. Remember these are your sessions and I am here to support you as needed!
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun, I enjoy playing video games, being outside, messing around with my garden and houseplants, and spending time with my loved ones (including my two dogs, Rhea and Oliver).
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am an empathetic and open individual in general and always want the best for everyone. I also love nature and really enjoy learning new things!
