Get to know Sharon
What types of clients do you work with best?
I have the most experience with young adults and gender diverse/queer folks, and I work best with people ready to make a change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Active engagement in therapy is as simple as talking to your counselor; we'll help you figure out the rest!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks has such a positive and supportive culture for clinicians, I feel lucky to be here.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I lead the first session by discussing confidentiality, expectations and guidelines, current symptoms or concerns, goals, and scheduling for later sessions. I will personalize this as required.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
It can take a few sessions to determine goodness of fit; the first is all about setting the framework for a safe and encouraging space and discussing practical considerations.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy crafting classes and spending time with friends and family. My hobbies mostly involve walking my dog or playing with my cat, but I also like to read and play games on my Switch.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am an animal lover!
