About Shannon

Shannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and has approximately 11 years of experience in providing mental health services in multiple environments. She has had the opportunity to work in private practice, two university counseling centers, and crisis services at a community service board. She has worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, personality disorders, abuse histories, relationship issues, stress, life changes, personal growth, and family of origin issues.

Shannon has an M.A. in Professional Counseling and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2022 with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. She strongly believes that every individual is different and has different needs in counseling. Through a strengths-based and solution-focused lens, she draws on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. Her approach to therapy is client-centered; clients are the experts in their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy.

Shannon has a passion for helping people take steps toward growth, healing, and wholeness and would value the opportunity to come alongside you in your journey! She looks forward to working with you.
