I have worked with clients with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and Bipolar Disorders the past 25 years through various capacities. Challenges my clients have often faced include socioeconomic barriers, dysfunctional relational and coping patterns, incarceration, domestic violence, limited supports, and traumatic experiences while pursuing positive changes that promote long-term, independent and healthy lifestyles. My direct experience is supplemented through credentials that include Resident in Counseling, CSAC Supervisee, certified yoga instructor and certified nutrition coach.

My therapeutic philosophy promotes healthy lifestyle habits, meaningful connections, appropriately prescribed medications, self reflection, and personal accountability. I provide a person-centered, solution-oriented approach through the use of motivational interviewing, cognitive therapeutic interventions, and mindfulness practices.

If you are feeling stuck, unseen, overwhelmed, navigating serious life changes or specific diagnoses, please reach out to obtain support in walking through your journey.

"As someone who values authenticity and understands that life does not always fit neatly into a box, I strive to create a space where you can feel safe being yourself, explore what is holding you back, and discover your own path forward."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I want to offer a safe place for people to process the challenges they experience in becoming the best versions of themselves, as well as assisting them in unlearning thoughts and habits that keep them stuck and to learn new ways to support moving forward.

What types of clients do you work best with?

Clients who generally want to create better lives for themselves.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Everyone who goes through their healing process wishes they had done it sooner. Therapists should be viewed similarly as primary care physicians: everyone should have one established for routine wellness checks and be readily available when not feeling our best.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Reviewing inidividual needs, risk, strengths, protective factors, goals, barriers, informed consent, rapport building, and expectations of the therapeutic process.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Autonomy, discernment, holistic, trauma-informed.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I consider cultural and demographic factors from various angles, current stage of change, goals and commitment levels on reaching those goals.
