About Rishi
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 4 years of experience supporting individuals through life transitions, anxiety, grief, mood disorders, trauma, and substance use. I specialize in working with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—from themselves, their relationships, or their sense of purpose. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking clarity, healing, and a more grounded sense of self. Together, we work to understand patterns that no longer serve them, build resilience, and cultivate meaningful change.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and I ground my approach in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I support clients in slowing down, tuning into their emotions and patterns, and making intentional choices.
I know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I want you to know you are not alone in whatever you are facing. If you’re ready to explore your story and take steps toward healing or growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. When you are ready, I invite you to take that next step—we will move forward at your pace together.

"As a South-Asian therapist, I bring warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for your unique story, drawing from both my professional training and my lived experience to create a space where you feel truly seen and supported."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I’ve always been drawn to the depth of people’s stories and the strength it takes to face life’s challenges. Over time, I saw how often people carry their pain alone—feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward—and I wanted to be someone who could offer presence, clarity, and hope in those moments. Becoming a therapist felt like a natural path: a way to combine my deep empathy with my interest in healing, growth, and meaningful connection. It’s a privilege to do this work and to witness the courage people show when they choose to step into therapy.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are curious about their inner world, even if they’re feeling unsure, stuck, or overwhelmed. Many of the people I work with are navigating life transitions, anxiety, grief, or questions around self-worth. I especially resonate with highly sensitive individuals, deep thinkers, and those who may feel like they’re carrying emotions or experiences that are hard to put into words. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just a willingness to explore and a desire for things to feel different.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing isn’t linear—and needing support doesn’t mean you’re broken, it means you’re human. Growth often happens in small, quiet moments of insight or self-compassion, not just in big breakthroughs. Therapy isn’t about fixing you; it’s about helping you reconnect with your inner strength, make sense of your experiences, and move forward with more clarity and intention.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming space where there’s no pressure to be anything other than who they are. We’ll start by getting to know each other—talking about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you have about the process. I’ll also share a bit about how I work, so you can get a feel for whether it’s a good fit. In the early stages of therapy, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, building trust, exploring your story, and identifying patterns or challenges you’d like to shift.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My work as a therapist is deeply informed by my belief in the power of human connection, the resilience we each carry, and the importance of being seen and heard in our full complexity. Personally, I've experienced the transformative impact of safe, attuned relationships—both in and outside of therapy—which fuels my commitment to creating that kind of space for others. I value authenticity, curiosity, and compassion, and I bring those into the room with every client. These values guide me in helping others navigate uncertainty, reconnect with themselves, and move toward greater wholeness.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
My style of therapy is collaborative and I want the client to feel that they are an equal partner in their therapy journey. A client should know I will advocate for them, and help connect them to resources if needed.
