Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor after taking a psychology course as en elective in my undergraduate studies. I became intrigued with the mind and human behavior.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with individuals who have a desire to feel better.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm excited to work with clients with trauma and BPD because I love teaching people ways to live a life worth living despite what they have been through.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew how powerful their thoughts were and how to never experience stress in their bodies again.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I have been licensed for almost two years now and really want to get a feel for private practice. I believe Thriveworks will provide me with the stepping stones and experience needed to be successful as an outpatient therapist in private practice someday.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by seeing my clients smile and learn self compassion.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect genuineness, positive regard, empathy, and hope from me in the first session, as well as they can expect to learn a few new skills to get started on their journey!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to begin establishing rapport in the first session. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important piece of the puzzle besides the clients themselves.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should know I am very good at meeting a client where they are and developing rapport. My background and trainings in trauma and Dialectical Behavior Therapy have provided me with the counseling skills needed to accept clients exactly as they are and instill hope and motivation for them to become the best version of themselves they desire to be.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my children during my time off. I love watching my daughter dance and my son play sports. I also love to play Fort Nite!
