Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a counselor because I wanted a job where the whole point is to make a positive impact on another person's life, no matter how big or small!
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
The counseling session is the one time and place to express yourself as genuinely as possible! It is okay to come in and cry about the things that make you sad, curse about the things that make you angry, and complain about the source of your frustrations. Similarly, it is okay to come to session and be unsure of what to talk about as well.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Paperwork, a hundred questions, some awkwardness, and my utmost intention to make you feel welcome and get to know you.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I aim to inform the client on what to expect in counseling and begin to establish a therapeutic relationship.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Read books, browse social media, and crochet
