My name is Miracle Kwapong. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. My background has strengthened my understanding of human behavior, emotional wellness, relationships, and the challenges individuals and families experience throughout life. I work with adults, children and adolescents, couples and families, and military members and veterans experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful, sustainable changes.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients understand their thoughts and emotions, recognize strengths, and work toward meaningful goals. I have a particular interest in military members and veterans.

You do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you work toward healing, growth, and greater confidence in yourself. When you are ready, I welcome you to take the next step and schedule an appointment so we can begin working together toward the changes that matter most to you.

"I bring compassion, lived experience, and a strengths-based perspective to therapy, creating a supportive space where individuals and families can feel heard, build resilience, and develop practical tools for meaningful change."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a counselor because I have always been passionate about helping people navigate difficult experiences, build resilience, and improve their overall well-being. My background in psychology and social work, along with my experience supporting individuals experiencing emotional distress, crisis situations, stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts, strengthened my desire to provide meaningful therapeutic support. I value creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to recognize their strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and make positive changes that support emotional wellness, stability, and personal growth.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with adults, adolescents, military members, veterans, couples, and families who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, low selfesteem, or difficulty coping with overwhelming emotions. I especially value working with clients who are seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental space to better understand their experiences, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, build confidence, and create meaningful change in their lives.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that healing is not always a straight path, and progress can look different for everyone. Therapy is a safe space to be honest, learn more about yourself, develop healthier coping skills, and work through challenges at your own pace. You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and asking for support is a sign of strength. Meaningful change often takes time, patience, and consistency, but even small steps can lead to lasting growth and improved well-being. If you are considering therapy, I invite you to take that first step when you feel ready, you do not have to navigate everything on your own.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where we begin getting to know one another and discussing what brought them to therapy. I will take time to learn about their concerns, experiences, strengths, goals, and what they hope to gain from counseling. During the early stages of therapy, we will work together to identify priorities, develop realistic goals, and begin exploring helpful coping strategies and practical tools that support positive change. I believe therapy should be collaborative, so clients can expect to be actively involved in the process while moving at a pace that feels comfortable and appropriate for them.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is informed by values of compassion, respect, empathy, integrity, and service. My background in social work, psychology, and supporting military members and individuals experiencing emotional distress has strengthened my understanding of the importance of meeting people where they are and providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for healing. I believe every client deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported regardless of their background or circumstances. I also value resilience, personal growth, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration, and I strive to help clients recognize their strengths while developing practical tools to navigate challenges and create meaningful change in their lives.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s individual experiences, strengths, concerns, goals, cultural background, and preferred pace for treatment. Rather than using the same approach with everyone, I draw from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, SolutionFocused Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, and PersonCentered Therapy based on what best fits the client’s needs. I also regularly check in about what is working, adjust goals or strategies when needed, and encourage open communication throughout the process. My goal is to create a collaborative and supportive therapeutic experience that feels relevant, respectful, and practical for each client.
