About Melissa
Melissa Moore is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and board-approved Supervisor who has a wealth of information and experience with most mental health disorders. Melissa has provided treatment to individuals from as young as 3 years old, to 65 years old. She works with Residents who want to improve their delivery of clinical treatment, and expand their skill set. Melissa offers support and education, and helps Residents establish their professional identity, their career goals, and their style of clinical delivery.
Melissa completed her Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling and Human Development at Walsh University. She has 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Melissa welcomes working with all Residents, regardless of race, gender, orientation, or lifestyle. She seeks to help Residents improve this field by giving back her expertise, and learning from her Residents.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I wanted to help people in a real and deep way, to assist them when struggling.

Motivated clients who know what they want, and where their issues lie.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Those with a history of trauma.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy is different for everyone - it isn't a one size fits all.
What inspires you?
Seeing others make progress in their lives.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A down to earth perspective, and an interaction that is welcoming and warm.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Building rapport.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
That I am one to laugh, and be a little sarcastic.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I dance.
