About Martha
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 12 years of experience helping adults, adolescents, and children navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in supporting individuals who want to strengthen relationships, overcome trauma, or find peace while managing depression, anxiety, or fears. I have worked in community mental health and with faith-based organizations. My approach is compassionate, goal-focused, and rooted in building healthier connections so clients can enjoy life more fully.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Liberty University, where I gained a strong foundation in evidence-based practices. I integrate communication skills training, cognitive behavioral therapy, Christian interventions, and trauma reprocessing into my work. Upon request, I also provide faith-based counseling to support spiritual growth.
I believe in meeting clients with patience and understanding while creating a safe space for growth. Whether you are seeking peace, stronger relationships, or healing from trauma, I am here to walk alongside you. If you are unsure that things can improve, let’s talk, and I will hold hope for you until you are ready to believe in it yourself.

"As a woman who has faced death and gone on to live in faith, I can kindly help others overcome through painful times in life (past or present) and help them move into better futures."

What types of clients do you work best with?
I prefer to work with clients who will try to trust and be honest with me. When they are do not trust me or are less then honest then progress is slower but still possible and more precious.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
The results of counseling or therapy depend on what the client puts into it. If they are willing to put forth the effort, then there can be great progress. The progress rides on the vehicle of the therapeutic relationship.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, I will kindly and respectfully attempt to understand your challenges and goals, and give you an idea of what to expect. This is the beginning of the therapeutic relationship.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have been through my own hard times, and so I can empathize. I became a Christian as an adult, so I can understand those who do not believe in Jesus. I have been a stranger in a land where I did not know the language, and I grew up in a multicultural area. Because of that, I understand cultural differences and can work with people of different backgrounds. I believe that each person is a unique work of art, and that every minute with them is precious. I believe that every client comes to me for a reason, and that I can help them.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I find out what they like to do, and then help them develop their own personal coping skills. I see what techniques work for each client, and aim to use only techniques that they are comfortable with, and that are effective for them.
