Get to know Maria

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I hope to help others reach their goals and find happiness in their lives

What types of clients do you work with best?

I work best with clients that want to work on their challenges and take accountability for their actions

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I enjoy working with all people of all races, ethnicities, gender, age groups

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I am also human and have had my own challenges in my life. I help with everything I have inside of me and want to be there for the people I help.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I believe that Thriveworks can help me reach my goals to help other people that I would not ordinarily be able to help. They will help me find clients that I am able to work with.

What inspires you?

My family inspires me to be the best person I can be every day

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

In our first session, we will have our intake. I will ask questions and client will answer to the best of their ability and level of comfort. We will get to know each other just a little bit better and will discuss what treatment will look like after the intake.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I would like to be able to establish trust and for the client to really know I care about them, this is not just my job, it is my life.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am grateful for clients when they allow me the privilege to be brought into their life and have them share what they have been going through. To me it is a privilege not an entitlement

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I spend time with my family and I like to travel to different places

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

What defines me is my ability to be friendly and honest with people. I will help anyone I can whenever it is possible. I never expect anything in return.
