Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I believe that every individual knows how to heal. We just have to work together to navigate that healing. As humans, we are not meant to live and work in isolation. I believe that connection is a key aspect of healing and recovery. I decided to become a counselor because I found that connection and began my own healing journey as a teenager. I want to share that freedom with as many people as I can!
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
All of us experience trauma at some point in our lives- maybe it was a car accident, a terrible storm, abuse, or a childhood bully. I enjoy helping individuals experience freedom from the worry and shame trauma leaves behind.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients, not only knew, but believed that healing is truly possible!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
During our first session, I will ask a little bit about the client and what brings them to the therapeutic table. Together, we will begin to notice some bothersome symptoms and create a plan to find relief. I hope to provide a listening ear to each individual that allows them to leave the first session feeling a little lighter.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
During my free time, I enjoy roller skating, cuddling up with a good book, hiking, canoeing, or swimming in the ocean.
