Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I have always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate their challenges and reach their full potential. Growing up, I found fulfillment in listening to friends and family members when they were struggling, offering a supportive space for them to express themselves. Over time, I realized that this desire to help was more than just a natural inclination—it was something I wanted to pursue professionally. I am fascinated by human behavior, emotions, and the ways in which individuals can grow and heal through self-awareness and guidance. The idea of creating a safe and empathetic environment where people can explore their feelings and work through difficult experiences inspired me to follow this path. Additionally, I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to find clarity, improve their mental health, and live a more balanced, fulfilling life, and I am eager to be a part of that transformative process. Counseling provides the perfect opportunity to combine my passion for personal growth with my desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with clients who are struggling with internal conflict and having difficulty viewing situations from a different perspective because I find it deeply rewarding to help them discover new ways of thinking and being. Internal conflict often arises from unresolved emotions or competing values, and guiding clients through this process of self-exploration can be transformative. I believe that when people are able to step outside of their ingrained patterns of thinking, they open themselves up to new possibilities and solutions. Helping clients challenge their assumptions and gain clarity not only provides relief in the short term but also empowers them to make more informed, balanced decisions moving forward. I find it fulfilling to support individuals as they shift their perspective, whether that’s seeing their own worth in a more positive light or understanding a difficult situation from a more compassionate angle. Being part of this growth and witnessing how it can lead to greater peace and self-acceptance is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a counselor for me.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are navigating personal challenges related to mental health, self-identity, and emotional well-being. Specifically, I find it deeply fulfilling to support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, or self-doubt, helping them to better understand their inner struggles and develop healthier coping mechanisms. I am also passionate about working with those who are seeking personal growth, whether they are looking to build confidence, improve their emotional regulation, or cultivate a greater sense of peace and self-acceptance. The opportunity to work with individuals who are committed to improving their mental health and are open to self-exploration excites me because it allows me to be part of their transformative journey toward healing and empowerment.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that while painful moments are inevitable and often unavoidable, they don’t define us—they shape us. Life's challenges and hardships, though incredibly difficult, offer valuable opportunities for growth if we allow ourselves to learn from them. I encourage clients to approach these moments with an open heart and mind, understanding that the pain they feel is a part of their journey. While it may seem overwhelming in the moment, it can lead to greater resilience, wisdom, and compassion. Embracing these difficult experiences, rather than resisting or running from them, can help foster a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. If clients can allow their struggles to teach them, rather than diminish them, they can emerge from those moments stronger, more thoughtful, and more empathetic toward themselves and others.

I chose to practice at Thriveworks because I deeply resonate with their mission to provide accessible, compassionate, and high-quality mental health care. Thriveworks offers a supportive environment that emphasizes both client and clinician well-being, allowing me to focus on what I am most passionate about—helping individuals navigate their challenges and achieve personal growth. The practice’s commitment to flexibility, including offering in-person and virtual therapy options, aligns with my belief in meeting clients where they are and accommodating their unique needs. Additionally, Thriveworks’ collaborative culture fosters a sense of community among clinicians, which allows for continued professional development and shared support. I value being part of an organization that prioritizes a client-centered approach, where clients are treated with respect, empathy, and understanding. This environment allows me to bring my best self to my work, and I feel confident in my ability to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I serve.
What inspires you?
What inspires me most is the resilience of the human spirit. I am constantly amazed by the strength people show in the face of adversity and the ways they can overcome challenges, heal, and grow. Whether it's a client making small but significant progress in their journey toward mental well-being or someone navigating life's hardships with courage and determination, witnessing these moments of growth and transformation fuels my passion for counseling. I am also inspired by the capacity for empathy and connection that we all have, and the ways in which meaningful conversations can help shift perspectives and create positive change. Additionally, I draw inspiration from the natural world and its ability to reflect cycles of renewal and balance, reminding me of the importance of self-care and patience in the process of healing. Ultimately, I am motivated by the idea that, even in the toughest times, there is always an opportunity for growth and a chance to become a better version of ourselves.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, my primary goal is to establish a strong foundation of trust and rapport with the client, creating a safe and supportive space where they feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. I want to gain a clear understanding of the reasons they sought therapy, as well as any challenges or emotional struggles they are currently facing. Through this conversation, I aim to identify their immediate needs and begin to explore their goals for therapy. I also hope to provide clarity about the therapeutic process, explaining how we will work together and what they can expect moving forward. My goal is for the client to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and empowered, with a sense of direction and a clear idea of how we can proceed together toward achieving their personal growth and healing.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, clients should know that I am committed to creating a compassionate, non-judgmental space where they can feel safe to express themselves openly. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, meaning that our work together will be a partnership where their voice is central in the process. I strive to be empathetic and supportive, and I understand that therapy can be a vulnerable experience, so I aim to respect each individual’s pace. I also want clients to know that I am dedicated to helping them explore their concerns, gain insight into their experiences, and work toward their personal goals. My approach is tailored to each client’s unique needs, and I am open to adapting my methods based on what feels most effective for them. Lastly, I want clients to feel empowered in their decision to seek therapy and confident that they will be met with understanding and respect at every stage of our work together.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off, I enjoy a mix of activities that help me relax, unwind, and recharge. Watching television is one of my favorite ways to unwind, especially when I can get absorbed in a good show or movie that allows me to escape into different worlds. I also love reading, whether it’s fiction that lets me explore new stories or books on personal growth and self-improvement that inspire me. Self-care is very important to me, so I make sure to carve out time for activities that nurture my well-being, like meditation, taking long baths, or practicing mindfulness. Traveling is another passion of mine; I enjoy exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and gaining new perspectives. Finally, I love playing games, whether it’s board games, card games, shooting pool and air hockey as they offer a fun way to engage with friends and family while keeping my mind sharp. These activities help me stay balanced and ensure that I’m able to bring my best energy to my work and personal life.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me outside of my professional life is my deep curiosity about the world around me. I’ve always had a natural desire to learn, whether it’s exploring new places, reading about different cultures, or diving into topics that challenge my thinking. This curiosity drives me to seek out new experiences, ask questions, and find joy in discovering the unknown. It’s not just about accumulating knowledge, but about being open to different perspectives and finding meaning in the small details of life. This trait influences the way I connect with others and approach challenges, as I tend to see them as opportunities for growth and learning. My curiosity keeps me engaged with the world and constantly striving to understand and appreciate the beauty and complexity of life.
