Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because I wanted to help people, hear their stories, and help them find hope after they survived a hopeless situation.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients that are ready to talk about their past and present, and move towards a more fulfilling future.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that they are the expert of their own lives; no one will ever know them better than they know themselves. You have a PhD in be-YOU-ty!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of the first 6 letters... I want to THRIVE and see those around me doing the same, no matter what challenges emerge.
What inspires you?
I'm inspired by every person that wanted to give up, but didn't.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Let's get to know each other! You should expect a smile, unconditional positive regard, lots of questions, lots of empathy, and collaboration. Let's make a treatment plan together that covers all of your mental health needs and goals!
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first session, I hope to build rapport with my client and make a treatment plan that addresses their mental health concerns.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should know that I'm open-minded, non-judgmental, and excited to get to know every client that I meet. I can promise that no matter what you've been through or are currently going through... you are not "too much" for me.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Bubble baths, watercolor painting, writing poetry, playing piano, watching true crime dramas, online shopping, making memes, going to the beach, and eating pho every chance that I can!
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My friends would say that my "dad jokes" and "dark humor" are what make me unique :)
