About Kayla
Kayla Barnoski is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 6 years of professional experience working with infants, toddlers, children, and teens with sides or concerns related to anxiety, depression, family issues, developmental disorders, behavioral issues, mood disorders, and more.
Kayla received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies at West Virginia University. She went on to earn her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University. Katie utilizes an eclectic counseling approach, which includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Rogerian methods, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and more.
Work together with Kayla, or partner together with her to offer truly unique and personalized mental health treatments for children of all ages. With her professional expertise, compassion, and therapeutic knowledge, Kayla ensures that each client receives her utmost attention.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
There is something so amazing seeing the change that can happen in therapy in just even the slightest way.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I believe that a holistic approach and team are where the best results come from.

My family, exercises, and the growing mental health community.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
An open space to build trust and begin the journey to a better healthier you.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Building rapport is the number one focus in the beginning of treatment to build that trust and feeling of safety and comfort.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I am trying to run a marathon/half marathon in all 50 states, so on my free time you can usually catch me outside running/training, cheering on WVU (Go Mountaineers) or relaxing with family and friends.
