About Katybeth
Katybeth Eller is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience. She loves to work with adult children of narcissistic and/or emotionally immature parents, as well as individuals struggling with ADHD and complex PTSD symptoms. Katybeth also has experience supporting the LGBTQ+ community and clients seeking guidance on relationship difficulties and building coping skills. She has spent time in various settings delivering mental health care to clients and is motivated to equip others with the tools they need to manage their lives.
Katybeth completed her Master’s at Lee University in East Tennessee. She focuses on psychoeducation to assist clients with developing self-confidence and self-compassion. Katybeth uses multiple treatment approaches depending on individual needs.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a counselor because I wanted to share the freedom that knowing about emotions and how our brain works gave me.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with queer adults who are struggling with life transitions.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with highly motivated adults who want to see changes in their lives.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients could understand how their brains are biologically wired and how that affects their daily functioning.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work at Thriveworks because of the independence I have over my daily schedule.
What inspires you?
The ability for humans to change inspires me to keep doing this work.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want establish rapport and move at a pace comfortable to the client so I can learn about them and also meet their immediate need.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I mostly spend time with my dog and my wife! I love live music and visiting the local breweries/cideries.
