About Katrina
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of experience. I’ve worked in both community-based services and private practice, supporting individuals and families facing chronic homelessness, child and family needs, and crisis intervention. I specialize in helping adults navigate relationship challenges, grief, and major life transitions while fostering growth, peace, and purpose.
I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and use a person-centered approach that integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, somatic work, bilateral stimulation, and parts work. I create a supportive space where clients build coping skills, process trauma, and find lasting resilience and emotional balance.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they can safely explore their fears, experiences, and emotions without judgment. It’s a privilege to walk alongside clients on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and greater fulfillment in life.

"As someone diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ADHD, I understand the challenges of maintaining balance across life’s many roles, pushing through feelings of inadequacy, and still learning to embrace the beautiful moments life offers."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
After my own experience in therapy, I gained valuable insight into my behavior patterns and learned how to stay accountable to myself, my values, and my growth. Having endured childhood trauma that deeply shaped my early adulthood, I entered therapy feeling lost and overwhelmed. Over time, I was able to heal, grow, and positively change the course of my life. I became a counselor because I truly believe in the power of this work.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Adults 18-64 who are experiencing relationship difficulties, angst, loss, or just wanting to create change in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy doesn’t mean something is “wrong” with you. Mental health and physical health are partners, and you deserve for them to work in harmony. Healing is a process, not a destination—it’s a way of being that welcomes wisdom, nurtures compassion, and creates space for growth.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first sessions will focus on building rapport, the concerns that brought them to therapy, and goal setting.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
In collaboration with each client, we identify goals, explore therapeutic modalities and techniques that foster insight, and regularly invite feedback to ensure the process remains supportive and adjustments can be made as needed.
