About Kara
Kara Walker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has over 10 years of experience working with adolescents and adults across the lifespan with issues related to trauma, depression, undeveloped coping skills, grief, difficult life transitions, military and veteran's issues, low self-esteem, chronic stress, and anxiety. She enjoys working with clients who are committed to their journey of self-discovery and healing. Kara specializes in empowering women who are struggling to discover their self-worth and reach their goals.
Kara earned her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Washington and believes that each individual seeking therapy deserves to find a therapist they connect with and trust. Her goal is that every client leaves therapy with the tools to manage their concerns. She uses proven techniques along with the understanding that every individual has worth.
Kara understands that our combined daily demands and expectations can be difficult to keep up with. She believes that now is a great time to invest in yourself to find hope, restore balance and challenge those limiting beliefs that accumulate along life’s journey. She can provide a safe and respectful environment where you can explore the patterns keeping you from living a more authentic life.

Get to know Kara
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a social worker because I wanted the opportunity to help others. I eventually gravitated to mental health because of my own personal journey of self discovery and wanting to support others in theirs.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients who are motivated to make some changes in their lives!
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with older adolescents and adults of all ages. Whether you are seeking to heal past wounds, want to address a traumatic event, or are looking to live a more whole hearted life, I’d love to work with you!
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy is a journey of self discovery and really opens the door to a world of opportunities that are awaiting you in life! Investing in yourself is one of the most important things you can do.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Our first session will be spent hanging out and getting to know each other! Having a good connection is an important part of the therapeutic process.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Getting to know each other and setting some goals for our time together.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy being active and getting outside when I can. I also enjoy playing video games with my two boys and hanging out with our dogs. My favorite hobbies are home renovation and creating new things!
