I feel very comfortable with talking to my provider, Jesse. I feel I have come a long way from where I was when we started! I have a lot of good days, and only a few hiccup days. He really listens and understands me so his ideas are super helpful and spot on!

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
When I am able to walk alongside client/s for a time, and that relationship leads to lasting change, or gives someone hope and the tools that they need to thrive in life, I feel like I am fulfilling my God given purpose for existing on this planet!
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with any client that is motived for lasting change, they have the greatest potential to experience a more fulfilling life because they have already started to come to terms with their personal experience and potential need to work through the past, or present concerns.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Sometimes the hardest thing about seeking counseling is not knowing what to expect, therefore just having your first session is a taking a huge step and it can facilitate the process that leads to lasting change.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks as a company makes the clients' needs the number one priority for their therapists, this is the ideal situation for clients because it allows their therapist to focus on them and their concerns!
What inspires you?
The most inspiring thing for me is being a part of the process when a client has discovered something that is a breakthrough, an "ah ha moment", and that discovery leads to more growth, it's why I became a therapist!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A warm greeting, open conversation where I explain the processes of counseling, and the clients can ask questions. I seek to understand the client and their reasons for seeking a counselor to best understand how to proceed in therapy.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I try to establish connections and start to build trust; it is important that clients know that they can rely on their therapist to always be honest and forthright, yet empathetic and patient in the process.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and disc-golf; I also enjoy reading and writing or a good cup of coffee with friends or family.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I make a promise to clients, to always speak the truth and work towards trust and mutual respect, and I expect the same in return. Counseling is not for everyone but I believe that it can make a difference for those who believe in the process and are committed to it.
