About Heather
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 7 years of experience supporting teens, adults, and veterans who are navigating PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, and the lasting impact of past experiences. Many of the people I work with are seeking understanding, emotional balance, and a steady, supportive space where they can explore what they have been carrying and begin to heal.
I earned my master’s in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply trauma informed. I draw from internal family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients process difficult experiences, and build grounding skills.
You deserve a place where you feel supported, understood, and able to move at a pace that feels right for you. Healing does not have to happen alone. I am here with care, curiosity, and respect as you take steps toward feeling more grounded and whole. When you are ready, I would be honored to walk with you on your path forward.

"As someone who has navigated trauma in my own life and military service, I bring a grounded, compassionate presence to therapy, meeting clients where they are and walking with them at a pace that feels safe and collaborative."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
After leaving the military, I wanted to keep serving others in a meaningful way. Becoming a counselor allows me to walk alongside you through challenges, offer understanding without judgment, and help you find hope, healing, and strength. For me, it’s not just a career—it’s a way to make a difference in people’s lives, including yours.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready to start their journey toward healing, no matter how small the steps may be. I meet you where you are, offering support, understanding, and guidance as you move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I want you to know that asking for help is one of the strongest and most courageous things you can do. Therapy isn’t only for people who feel the most broken—it’s for anyone who wants support, insight, and guidance to grow, heal, and live a fuller, more meaningful life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
When we start working together, you can expect a safe and welcoming space where I meet you exactly where you are. Together, we’ll build trust and decide on a pace that feels comfortable. We’ll focus on goals that matter most to you, not what I think is best, and my approach is entirely centered on your needs and priorities.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I’ve personally experienced trauma, so I understand how overwhelming and difficult the healing process can feel. In our work together, I bring honesty, integrity, and transparency, and I’m committed to honoring your unique values, beliefs, and preferences. My goal is to create a space where you feel truly seen, supported, and empowered to take the steps that feel right for you.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Everyone’s journey is different and unique, so I adapt therapy to meet your needs. I use a variety of techniques and tailor them to your beliefs, preferences, and goals, creating a process that supports your growth in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful.
