Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Every since I can remember I have wanted to help people. Like most children I wanted to be a Doctor or a Dentist. Growing up my friends and family always told me I was a great listener and had a different way of thinking and seeing situations. I decided I wanted to use those traits to help others outside of my circle. Working with children, teens and their families, I realized that there are people out there who just need a listening ear and the occasional hand in processing their difficulties.

What types of clients do you work with best?

As I have progressed in this field I have discovered that I do not have specific population I work with better than the other. I allow the client to guide the session and follow their lead.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I enjoy working with anyone who is seeking peace and stability in their life.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish client's knew that Mental Health is a journey and it is not a one size fits all.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks presents to have a Clinician Centered environment. This is a great environment because it allows the therapist to work in peace and feel comfortable with seeking out support.

What inspires you?

I love music, reading and cartoons. I often find myself using these genres of entertainment to support my client's

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

My first few sessions with client's are rapport building. I take the time to get to know them. We process their likes and dislikes, what their goals for life and therapy are, their support systems, right down to what their favorite foods or sports teams are.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

I feel like that is for the client to decide. They are the expert in regard to their life and themselves. I let them lead and follow occasionally giving feedback along the journey.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Be prepared to talk about yourself! This session is about you.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy horseback riding, reading, watching cartoons, singing and dancing. When I am not doing that I am engaging in creative writing, Yoga, and working out.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

There is not one thing that defines me. I am a woman of many talents and interests. I do not like to be confined to a box.
