Get to know Chardonnay
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor to share knowledge and support others' journey to peace. As a teenager, I was plagued with panic attacks and wished I had had some one guide me so I could have understood mental health more clearly.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with a variety of clients and personalities. I enjoy clients who collaborate with me to help them achieve their goals.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Panic, Depression.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish more clients knew that everything is temporary. Life goes down, but eventually it will go back up, and life goes up and eventually will go down. How we manage the fluctuations is what matters.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I choose to work at Thrive due to the population of clients they serve as well as the remote availability.
What inspires you?
Nature and being outdoors with my dog. It grounds me and rejuvenates my soul.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session is usually just getting to know each other and gathering information. We want to make sure we are a good fit for each other.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
The first session is usually to build a relationship and help the client feel comfortable. We will discuss confidentiality, what therapy is, and what the client's goals are.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am very friendly and approachable so there is no need to feel nervous.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my time off, I play pickleball, hike with my dog, and spend time with my husband.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is probably my love for physical movement. I am always on the go enjoying some sort of walk or outdoor project.
