Catherine “Cat” Webber is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 6 years of experience supporting individuals facing substance use, addiction, trauma, and serious mental health challenges. She draws from a background working with justice-involved populations and emphasizes empathy, nonjudgment, and personal responsibility. Cat values lifelong learning and is deeply committed to helping clients rewrite their stories with courage, clarity, and connection.
Cat earned her Master’s in Counseling and Human Development from Radford University. She uses a client-centered approach rooted in empathy and empowerment, helping clients navigate complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Her practice includes support for co-occurring disorders, trauma recovery, and crisis management.
Cat is warm, easy to talk to, and passionate about creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and capable of change. She values the therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively to help clients heal, grow, and build stronger, healthier lives.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
All of my life, I have had the urge to help others. Counseling has offered me a way to do that and to gain knowledge that gives me an edge to it.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with all types of people. I encourage open and honest communication between myself and others.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with everyone. Each person is a unique individual who brings a unique set circumstances to the table and I enjoy learning about each individual I work with.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I believe that communication and open-mindedness is important for many aspects of life and that with these people can grow and learn and become their best selves.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I believe in continuing to grow and learn. I felt it was time to learn more about myself and take a step towards personal growth.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by many things including personal growth, open communication, and family.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During our first session, please expect to go over some business information such as informed consent. Additionally, I like to spend some times getting to know each client and what is important to them. Lastly, I like to collaborating with each client to create a plan to address what is most important to them.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
During the first session I think the two most important aspects are to create an open dialogue and to understand each other. In that vane, I try to make learning about the client my number one focus.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Although, I am a very laid back provider, I feel that open-mindedness and honest communication are the basis of the therapeutic relationship. I strive for this in all my endeavors and have the anticipation that others will as well.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I am an avid reader. I like to spend time with friends just chatting and catching up. I am starting to do chair yoga and find that it is highly effective at relieving stress and anxiety.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I think the thing that defines me the most is that I am a person oriented person. While I an introverted I love being around my loved ones as much as possible and just spending quiet moments with them, especially my daughter.
