Get to know Bailey

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a Counselor because I believe that people struggle with vulnerability. I believe in providing clients with the opportunity to vent and learn to be vulnerable, establishing healthy boundaires and coping mechanisms.

What types of clients do you work with best?

Adolescents, youth, children and young adults.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Adolescents, youth and children

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I hope that clients learn to understand themselves better and develop a higher level of self-esteem.

I wish for clients to not hide behind a diagnosis, and learn to utilize coping mechanisms to assist them with daily struggles.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks provides security and stability for Resident Counselors on the road to licensure. Thriveworks is all over the country which provides an opportunity to continue to work and achieve a license in multiple states. I am excited to be a part of the Thriveworks community!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by my values. I value love, family, friends, health, knowledge, faith, and freedom. My values are what inspire me to make myself better and keep myself held to realistic standards to be able to achieve goals for my present and my future.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect a professional, laid back/casual session that allows the client and clinician space to build rapport, and for the clinician to get to complete the clients intake/Bio-psycho-social information.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

As the clinician, it is my goal to understand the clients reason for coming to therapy, to establish the goals and objectives to formalize a treatment plan, and build rapport.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

Clients should know that I am energetic, humorous, and spontaneous. I also utilize solution focused and mindfulness practices constantly, provide homework/'at home activities" almost every session.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and boyfriend. I spend my time off exercising, playing/coaching volleyball, watching movies, and going on vacations/trips.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

What defines me is my faith, and my values. I am a Christian, believing that Jesus saved all of us from our sins, and that we are called to live how Jesus would live, to the best of our abilities. I value love, family, friends, freedom, and knowledge, and believe that these values define me and what I strive to portray myself as.

I am also a very caring, loyal, and enthusiastic person.
