About Ashley
I am a Resident in Counseling with over 2 years of experience, and I specialize in working with caregivers, as well as individuals managing anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, and life adjustments. My goal is to create a supportive and safe space where clients feel heard and understood. I am passionate about guiding people through life’s challenges while helping them develop tools that foster growth, resilience, and lasting positive change.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Master’s in Human Services from Purdue Global University. Through my training, I have gained experience in crisis intervention, mental health first aid, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices, which I integrate into my work.
I believe the key to any relationship is being present and meeting people where they are. I strive to provide space and opportunity for clients to speak freely without judgment, ensuring they feel supported and empowered. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping individuals move forward with confidence.

"As an LGBTQIA ally and a woman of color, I understand the need for identity, acceptance, and purpose."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I made the decision to become a counselor after being told for years that this is what I should be doing. I have always been people's safe space and I wanted to provide that to others as well.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work with a variety of clients ranging from age 16-60 with a variety of reasons for seeking services. Those include anxiety, depression, life changes, and caregiving challenges.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with anyone who is ready to begin this journey to self-improvement/reflection.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
The one thing I would like people to know is that I am a woman of many hats. Each hat makes me the person you see today.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I choose Thriveworks because it is located in my community and aligns with my values. This was a great opportunity for me to continue to help those that matter most to me.
What inspires you?
I am insipred by my family. My father is a hard worker, my mother made something out of nothing, my husband is resilient, and my children keep me going even when I want to give up.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session will be a time for us to build some rapport and get to know each other. This experience is new for the both of us and I want the space to be comfortable.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
During the first session, I would want my client to feel safe and comfortable. If we succeed in that, I would call it a win.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling, you should know that I am coming in with an open mind and a blank canvas. I normally do not have an agenda unless it is needed.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love reality television, cooking shows, documentaries, and any Marvel movie/show. If I am not in front of the television, I am normally out in the community participating in local events.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
The one thing that defines me is my will to change. I do not mind being different or experiencing different things.
