April Dunkum Fox is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has 27 years of experience in the mental health field. April sees children, adolescents, and adults for individual therapy and also provides family therapy. She works with clients who have experienced trauma and who struggle with anxiety, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anger, family conflict, and issues related to adoption. April has a passion for helping people heal, seeing families grow together, and seeing relationships improve.
April completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology at Randolph Macon College and her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Virginia Commonwealth University. She takes a person-centered approach and focuses on providing reality-based therapy through treatment approaches including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-based therapy. April believes in a strengths-based and client-centered approach to help guide clients in their treatment journey.
