Alise is wonderful. She is a fantastic listener and her empathy is felt in each of our meetings. She is patient with me even when I realize I'm rambling on. I like that she is direct and forthright. I definitely need that…. I feel once we've met that a load is off of my shoulders and heart… My mind is at ease.. at least for a while. She gives me plans and activities that help me in a tremendous way. I greatly appreciate her and would recommend her. I know with her counseling I'm getting better soon.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor because I believe everyone faces challenges at some point and anyone can live a fulfilling life if they have access to the skills, tools, and guidance needed to overcome those challenges.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are open-minded and looking for new perspectives; clients who understand that we all face challenges and no one is perfect, but are seeking ways to live a more fulfilling life.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are willing to try new techniques and are open to change in their own lives.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish that all clients knew that the road to success isn't a straight line and that they have to give themselves grace and opportunity to mess up and learn.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I believe that clients should have open access and opportunities to seek help and I believe Thriveworks offers that opportunity.
What inspires you?
I am most inspired by the stories of others, whether that is through books, movies, art, or music. I love seeing what people can create from nothing.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect a listening ear, compassion and a few suggestions on how to begin living a more fulfilling life.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to accomplish an understanding of the main issue they are facing and a plan on how to move forward together that works for the client.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should know I am always open to feedback and questions. One size does not fit all, and finding an approach that the client is most comfortable with is important. Clients should always feel free to voice if they feel a different approach is needed.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my time off, I love to read, watch movies, hike and take photographs in nature.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am defined by my passion to learn new things and enjoy life.
