Get to know Alexandra
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I love making connections with people and hearing their stories. I enjoy helping clients recognize their inner strengths, take steps toward developing self-acceptance and positive change, and ultimately build the lives they want.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I meet clients where they are at, whether they are returning to treatment or brand new to therapy. Clients will benefit most when they are open to new ideas and self-reflection.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm excited to work with clients who are open to the therapeutic process and want to challenge themselves.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that every person can benefit from therapy. While change does not happen overnight, you may be surprised at the ways your life can be enhanced through this process.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by my compassionate, hard-working friends and family, who encourage me to pursue my passions and continually grow as a person.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect a comfortable, affirming atmosphere in our first session. They will be able to share their reason for coming to therapy, their personal history, and their main goals. I never ask clients to share more than they feel comfortable with, and we will review the terms of confidentiality.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My primary goal for the first session is to set the foundation for a strong working relationship. I want the client to feel comfortable and heard.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking trails, and playing puzzle games. I also love spending time with my cat.
