I'm Tori Conte, a Licensed Master Social Worker in Austin, Texas, with five years of experience helping teens, veterans, and adults heal from trauma, anxiety, and depression. My work has spanned residential treatment, community mental health, VA-affiliated programs, and schools in Northern California. The individuals I work with are often carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, or depression, and many have spent a long time pushing through on their own. They come to therapy wanting to feel safe in their own minds and bodies again, break the cycle of worry or numbness, and build a life that feels like theirs.
My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and paced around you. We will build coping skills for anxiety and depression, make sense of how past experiences shape the present, and set goals that matter to you. Expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you're the expert on your life, and where progress is steady, practical, and yours.
Reaching out for help takes real courage, and you don't have to walk that path alone. Whether you are a teen or an adult carrying something heavy, you deserve support that feels safe, respectful, and tailored to you. When you are ready, I would be honored to walk alongside you. Schedule an appointment, and we can take the first step together.

"I believe healing happens in a relationship where you feel truly seen, so I bring warmth, curiosity, compassion, and honesty to every session, and I will work alongside you at your pace."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I grew up in a dysfunctional family and lived through many of the struggles my clients face. Therapy and psychology helped me break the cycle and heal, and that changed my life. I became a social worker to be the person I needed growing up.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with teens, women, and adults who are carrying trauma, anxiety, or depression and are ready to heal but aren't sure where to start. Many have been the strong one for a long time, or grew up without enough support. I especially connect with people who want to overcome unhealthy behaviors, break old cycles, and build a steadier, more hopeful life.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing isn't a straight line, and setbacks don't mean you're failing. Progress often looks like small, quiet shifts like pausing before you react, asking for help, and being a little kinder to yourself. You don't have to be 'fixed' to deserve support, and you're allowed to heal at your own pace, in a way that feels right for you. There's no 'right way' to do this and no such thing as perfect. We are all just humans doing this life together.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, we'll talk about what brought you in, what you're hoping to achieve, and what you want me to know about you. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. In the early stages, we'll build trust, set goals together, and start practicing simple coping tools. You'll set the pace, and I'll check in often to make sure therapy feels right for you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Growing up in a dysfunctional family and finding my way through therapy shaped how I practice. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and compassion, that healing is possible even after painful beginnings, and that people are more than their symptoms or their past. I value honesty, compassion, and meeting people without judgment, because that's what I needed and what I want to offer.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I take an eclectic and integrative approach to therapy, drawing from many different modalities and therapeutic interventions. I start by getting to know you, your story, strengths, culture, and what you want from therapy and your life. From there, we shape a plan that fits your goals, pace, and comfort level. Some people need practical coping tools, others need space to process the past, and many need both. I will check in often and adjust as you grow, because what helps you now may change over time.
