About Symone
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 8 years of experience helping adults navigate life’s challenges. I began my career in applied behavior analysis with children on the autism spectrum before transitioning to work with eating disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety. Through these experiences, I learned how deeply our emotions, bodies, and stories are connected and how healing begins when we feel truly seen and supported.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University. My therapeutic approach blends accountability with humor to foster honesty and growth. I use cognitive processing therapy for PTSD, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy to support lasting change.
I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s ups and downs. My goal is to help you reclaim peace, build emotional resilience, and move forward with confidence and clarity. If you’re ready to rewrite your story and evolve with purpose, I’d be honored to walk beside you.

"I believe healing begins when we feel truly seen and understood, and my goal as a therapist is to create a space where you can show up fully—messy, real, and human—and still feel accepted."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Growing up, I discovered how powerful it is just to listen—really listen. It helps people feel seen, supported, and understood. As a therapist, I get use that same approach with purpose, helping clients untangle life’s chaos and find meaning and compassion along the way.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults and young adults who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, often navigating anxiety, trauma, or big life transitions. My clients tend to be thoughtful, self-aware, and ready to do the work, even if they’re not sure where to start. I especially enjoy working with those who value authenticity, humor, and real conversations as part of the healing process.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing isn’t about being “fixed” or having everything figured out. Therapy is about showing up for yourself, learning to understand your patterns, and practicing self-compassion along the way. Progress can be messy, nonlinear, and sometimes uncomfortable, but every step you take toward awareness and growth matters, and you don’t have to do it alone.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where we get to know each other and explore what brought you to therapy. We’ll discuss your goals, challenges, and what you hope to gain from our work together, while I also explain my approach and how we’ll collaborate. In the early stages of therapy, we focus on building trust, identifying patterns, and creating a foundation of insight and self-awareness, all while developing practical tools to help you navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Growing up, I saw firsthand the power of simply being heard—how listening with presence and empathy could help people feel understood and supported. That experience shaped my core values as a therapist: compassion, authenticity, and a belief in meeting people where they are. I also bring a sense of humor, creativity, and curiosity into my work, because I’ve learned that growth happens best in a space that’s both safe and engaging, where clients feel empowered to explore, heal, and reclaim their peace.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by meeting each client where they are and building a collaborative plan that fits their goals, pace, and personality. I draw from evidence-based approaches like CPT, ACT, CBT, and DBT, but adapt them with practical tools, real-life examples, and even pop culture references to make sessions relatable and engaging. I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore triggers, build emotional awareness, and develop strategies that truly work for their life—because no two journeys to growth look the same.
