Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I saw a need to bridge the gap between Church/Religion and Therapy. While spirituality is a leading factor to many people's wholeness, I have come to understand that counseling can still be a helpful aid if utilized properly.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Adolescents, Adults, Families and Couples
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Adolescent, Young Adult and Adult Males (Guidance for young men learning about who they are in this society as well as adult males working on Men's Issues)
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that being their "unique" self is normal and they do not have to compare themselves to others.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I appreciate Thriveworks for working with Associates and others who are still in the process of getting their full-licensure.
What inspires you?
Helping people be their best self.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session will consist of introductions, going over confidentiality and other legal measures, setting ground rules, building rapport, and identifying areas of concern.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to make them feel comfortable while obtaining background information and identifying areas of concern that we will begin to focus on.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I believe that therapy does not "always" have to be serious. Life is serious and stressful enough. I have a goofy sense of humor, so I want clients to know that we can still laugh while working through the difficult matters.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love reading, listening to music, watching movies, enjoying sports, traveling, and more. When given the chance, I can be found at a resort in a tropical location.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
