I'm Rob Evans, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Before entering counseling, I spent many years working in healthcare, which shaped my understanding of the connection between physical and emotional well-being. I work with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, helping each client feel understood and supported. My goal is to provide an affirming, supportive space where clients can better understand themselves and work toward meaningful change.
My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical. I use CBT and solution-focused techniques to help each client identify patterns, build coping skills, and make meaningful changes. I believe therapy should feel genuine and responsive to each person's individual needs, strengths, and goals.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and you don't need to know exactly where to begin. I'll meet you where you are with openness, respect, and support. If you're ready to understand what's been weighing on you and explore what needs to change, I'd be glad to work alongside you.

"After years of working in healthcare, I bring compassion, life experience, and an understanding of how stress, loss, relationships, and major life changes can affect our emotional well-being, and I strive to provide a supportive space where clients can feel heard and understood."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor after many years working in healthcare and seeing how closely emotional health is connected to the challenges people face everyday life. I wanted to help people in a deeper, more personal way, and counseling gave me the opportunity to combine my healthcare experience with my interest in understanding and supporting people through the therapeutic process.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are open to exploring their lives while looking for practical ways to move forward. I value working with people from diverse backgrounds and strive to create an affirming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, gaining insight, and working toward goals that support positive change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that therapy is a process that can take time and work. Growth often happens gradually, and progress can look different for each individual.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, I focus on getting to know you better and learning what you hope to gain from the process. We will talk and explore your current concerns and goals. The early sessions are a chance to build comfort and trust, while also finding an approach that fits your needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
People should feel heard, respected, and supported, especially during stressful or vulnerable times. I bring those values into therapy by approaching each client with openness, compassion, and curiosity. I believe therapy should feel genuine, collaborative, and responsive to each person's needs.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking the time necessary to understand each client's goals, strengths, and preferences. I believe therapy should be flexible rather than a one-size-fits all, so we can work at a pace that supports each client's needs.
