Get to know Maureen

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I chose to become a counselor because I’ve always felt a deep calling to help others navigate life’s challenges and find healing. Through personal experiences and a strong passion for understanding human emotions, I realized that supporting others in their journey of growth and self-discovery is both fulfilling and meaningful.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, teens, families, and women.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I’m truly excited to work with clients who are driven to embrace change, confront their inner dialogues, and are enthusiastic about starting their journey toward becoming healthier versions of themselves.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I will provide a safe nonjudgmental space that allows for a collaborative therapeutic process.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I appreciate the opportunity to maintain a work/life balance while working for a company that supports and encourages the client-therapist relationship.

What inspires you?

I’m driven by the idea of helping individuals and families navigate their challenges, gain clarity, and overcome obstacles in their life.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

We will get to know each other through an open dialogue, complete in-take questions, and possibly formulate a plan for future sessions.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where the client feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. I'd like to gain some insight into their challenges, goals, and what they hope to achieve through therapy.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am an empathetic, caring, and knowledgeable person prepared to listen.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

You can find me on a beach somewhere, spending time with family, or binge watching the latest series.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I am a genuine person with core values and a healthy sense of humor.
