I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor who specializes in trauma informed practices. I received my graduate degree from University of Houston – Graduate College of Social Work in 2011 and have been practicing as a counselor since. I am EMDR-trained, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and a Certified Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional. I value the opportunity to work with clients as they navigate different seasons and transitions in their lives, whether adjusting to life changes, managing anxiety or depression, or healing from trauma.

I believe in holistic, person-centered care that addresses the whole individual, not just symptoms. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals from the Global Majority, exploring how cultural factors impact mental health. My approach incorporates decolonizing oppressive beliefs, helping clients develop agency and self-awareness.

It would be an honor and privilege to walk alongside you during this season of your life. I often remind my clients that you may never feel 100% ready—you simply need to be 100% willing. With compassion, support, and a willingness to begin, meaningful change is possible. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.

"As a Filipina American, immigrant, and trilingual therapist in Houston, I bring a unique bicultural perspective and create a safe, empowering space where clients feel seen, valued, and supported in navigating life’s challenges and achieving their therapeutic goals."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Believe it or not, my desire to become a mental health professional began when I was just seven years old, when I dreamed of becoming a psychiatrist. As I grew older, I realized that what initially drew me to psychiatry was actually my deep interest in the therapeutic process and the power of talk therapy. While my career aspirations evolved, my desire to support and help others remained constant. Even from a young age, I was often described as wise beyond my years and was the person my peers turned to for thoughtful guidance and advice. That early passion for understanding and helping others ultimately became the foundation for my journey into the field of therapy.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are ready and willing to engage in the therapeutic process and invest in their personal growth. My role as a therapist is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you with compassion and guidance, helping you recognize patterns, gain new perspectives, and uncover aspects of yourself that may be difficult to see on your own. Together, we will work toward greater self-awareness, empowerment, and meaningful change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I want clients to understand about therapy and the healing process is that meaningful growth often happens between sessions. The reflections, exercises, and intentional practices we discuss in therapy are opportunities to apply what you learn and deepen your understanding of yourself in your everyday life. As your therapist, my role is not to do the work for you, but to provide the guidance, tools, and support you need to navigate your healing journey. Ultimately, healing is an active process that requires your willingness, commitment, and participation both inside and outside the therapy room.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Our first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you, your background, and the experiences that have shaped who you are today. I will ask questions about different aspects of your life to better understand your needs, concerns, and what brings you to therapy. We will also begin establishing therapeutic goals by identifying what you hope to achieve during our time together. This initial session lays the foundation for our work and helps us develop a collaborative approach tailored to your unique needs and goals.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe every individual is unique, and therapy should reflect that individuality. My approach is collaborative and personalized, drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities and techniques to meet each client’s specific needs. I view my training and experience as a therapeutic toolbox, allowing me to thoughtfully select and integrate the approaches that best align with each client’s goals, preferences, and expectations. Together, we will develop an individualized path toward growth, healing, and meaningful change.
