About Maranatha
I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work and several years of experience across a range of settings, including individual counseling and suicide prevention programs in rural Texas schools. I work with children and adolescents navigating self-esteem, trauma, social challenges, anxiety, depression, coping skills, and behavioral issues, as well as adults facing trauma, mood and personality disorders, interpersonal difficulties, anxiety, and depression. My clients are often seeking space to build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and develop tools for lasting change.
I integrate DBT and CBT for practical coping skills, play therapy for younger clients, and psychodynamic work to explore deeper roots of struggle through a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens. Using motivational interviewing, I meet clients where they are, helping them build insight, resilience, and lasting change at their own pace.
Whatever brought you here, know that reaching out takes real courage, and you don't have to carry it alone. As someone who understands the cultural weight placed on silence and strength, I hold space for you to feel seen, respected, and understood, as you are. I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you take this next step toward healing.

"As a first-generation Filipino-American, I bring a personal understanding of navigating cultural identity and sense of self while unlearning the mental health stigma many of us were raised with."

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that healing isn't linear; there will be setbacks, plateaus, and moments that feel like starting over, and that's not failure, that's the process. Your mental health struggles are valid, no matter how big or small they may seem, and progress is still progress even when it doesn't look like a straight line forward."
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
I conduct an extensive biopsychosocial intake to understand your history, relationships, culture, and current needs from every angle. From there, I contextualize treatment around what's unique to you, so the approach we build together feels relevant and meaningful to your life, not generic or one-size-fits-all.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
At my core, I believe in our shared humanity, that beneath every diagnosis or struggle is a whole person deserving of dignity, compassion, and to be truly humanized rather than reduced to a label. My own experiences navigating identity and mental health have taught me that we heal best when we feel genuinely understood, not fixed. That belief shapes everything about how I show up for my clients.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I don't believe in a one-sizefits-all approach, so I draw from a range of methods, including DBT, CBT, play therapy, psychodynamic work, and motivational interviewing, adapting them to fit your age, culture, personality, and goals. By continually checking in and adjusting as we go, therapy stays responsive to who you are and what you actually need, not a fixed formula.
