About Kimberly
Kim Reuter is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in mood, adjustment, and performance-related issues as well as addiction-related concerns. Kim provides individuals with a safe place to promote healthy recovery, growth, and personal development. She encourages her clients to share concerns and feelings and partners with them to assist in exploring and processing present-day challenges and unresolved conflicts or trauma. Through educational pursuits and personal life experiences, Kim has gained a deep understanding of life’s unexpected challenges.
Kim has a Master’s in Counseling from Webster University. She takes an eclectic approach to treatment and uses cognitive behavioral therapy along with an array of other integrative therapy techniques to meet the individualized needs of each individual.
Seeking counseling can be difficult and sensitive, and choosing the “right” therapist involves the willingness to invest and commit to the process. Kim will assist those in need by utilizing strength-based and person-centered approaches, remaining non-judgmental and genuine in a warm and always welcomed setting.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor, as I have strong desire to help others and sincerely experience fulfillment in witnessing positive changes and growth in people's lives.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with a wide array of clients, with various presenting issues.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Any who are motivated and willing to engage in the therapeutic process! All are welcome.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That there will never be the perfect response or answer to any life situation, and this is okay.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I appreciate the autonomy but yet the ever-ready work relatiionships between peers and supervisors. I appreciate the professionalism, the mission and values of Thriveworks, as well as their continued goal of remaining client and counselor centered.
What inspires you?
My daughter, every day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Education of the counseling process (If needed and wanted) and open dialogue.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Begin building rapport, begin creating a realistic, person-centered, and goal-oriented treatment plan
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am very transparent and will always strive for open communication. I can not promise what tomorrow will look like, but I will work alongside anyone to assist in creating realistic and person-centered goals
