About Justin
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than nine years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that leave them feeling stuck. I work especially well with clients who want more than a place to vent—they're looking for practical insight, clearer direction, and tools they can apply in everyday life. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns shaping your choices, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on making emotional and psychological concepts easier to understand. I use skill-based strategies for emotional regulation, trauma processing, cognitive reframing, mindfulness, and behavioral change. You can expect honest conversation, curiosity, humor, and tools tailored to how you think and live.
You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin where you are, make sense of what's been weighing on you, and work toward changes that feel realistic and meaningful. If you're ready for a supportive, practical space focused on moving forward, I encourage you to schedule an appointment.
"I help clients make sense of difficult emotions and patterns by breaking complex ideas into clear, practical tools they can actually use in everyday life."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I first became interested in counseling through my own experiences as a therapy client and my efforts to better understand anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence. Those experiences showed me how important it is for people to feel understood and to receive care that is practical, individualized, and meaningful. I became a counselor because I wanted to help people better understand their minds, feel less overwhelmed by what they are experiencing, and find tools that genuinely improve their lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work especially well with clients who feel overwhelmed by their thoughts, anxiety, trauma, or major life experiences that continue to affect them. I enjoy helping people process difficult events, recognize patterns, and find ways to move forward through approaches such as mindfulness, meditation, emotional regulation, forgiveness work, and trauma-processing techniques. I tend to work best with clients who are thoughtful, curious, and ready to better understand themselves while learning practical ways to create change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish more people understood that many of the patterns that keep us stuck began as ways to protect ourselves. Healing is often less about ‘fixing’ who you are and more about recognizing those patterns, calming the nervous system, and gradually unlearning responses that are no longer helping you.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a relaxed conversation focused on understanding what brought them to therapy, what they have been experiencing, and what they hope to change. I’ll ask questions to better understand the bigger picture and may introduce simple tools such as breathwork, grounding, or mindfulness. In the early stages, we begin identifying patterns, building practical skills, and deciding together which approaches are the best fit.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is shaped by both professional training and my own experiences navigating mental health and neurodivergence. Those experiences taught me the value of practical, individualized care and of seeing people as whole individuals rather than reducing them to a diagnosis or set of symptoms. I strive to create a space that is direct, nonjudgmental, and focused on helping clients find approaches that genuinely fit the way they think, live, and experience the world.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by listening closely to how each person thinks, communicates, and responds to different approaches. I try to keep things understandable and practical rather than overly clinical, and I adjust my style based on what helps each client feel comfortable and engaged. For some people that means more structure and concrete tools; for others, it means more space to talk things through. I also believe therapy can be warm and personable, and I use humor when it feels natural and appropriate for the client.
