Learning how to cope with change can sometimes prove to be difficult. Therapy is a great gateway toward learning to cope with the loss of a loved one, change of work/school, going through a different stage in your life, or any kind of challenges you may face.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I enjoy helping others search for answers to their own questions. Counseling also provides a safe space for people who feel they cannot talk to others or are misunderstood. I love creating an environment in which people have the liberty so say what they feel may hold them back or sometimes just to have a moment alone.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with pre-teens, teens, and older adults. A target clientele I would enjoy working with is minority groups (LGTBQA+, HIspanics)
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with the older generation. I feel that they have a lot of issues that might have been left behind and may be resurfacing today.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that counseling is for everyone. You do not necessarily have to have a traumatic experience or anxiety etc. to come to counseling. Counseling is a space and time set for you
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks seems like a place in which I will be able to gain experience with all types clients. Thriveworks also allows for counselors to create schedules that will work with them. Thriveworks also provides local supervisors for LPC-As and that is a huge plus as I feel this benefits upcoming counselors.
What inspires you?
Making a difference. When I see my clients improvements I am proud of them and know I have made a difference for them. Seeing clients realize they had the capability to move forward is a gratifying feeling.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
On their first session with me clients should expect openness and clarity. I like to explain to clients a little about counseling and take time to clarify misunderstanding about it. I also like to allow clients to ask questions about anything they have doubts about.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In a clients first session I would like to accomplish that they have created a plan on how they will got about moving forward with their situation. I would like clients to have a clear mind about how they will confront their challenges and how counseling may help them achieve that.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Clients should know that I am bilingual, I am open to helping anyone who seeks counseling, and I compassionate and understanding to clients.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For my time off/fun I like to go out and adventure. I enjoy hiking, camping, exploring new cities, and trying new foods.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is that I am not as confident as I seem. It is something I am working on and little by little I see that I am capable.
Can you tell us about a success you had with a client?
I had a 14 year old female who was having issues accepting her body. We worked together in learning to accept who she is and to be grateful for the things that her body allows her to do. By the time I we had to terminate my client’s self-esteem was high, her body posture had changed, she had a boyfriend, would war makeup, and even learned to ignore what others would say about her body.
