About Jennifer
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW, MSW) and certified life coach with over five years of clinical experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. I have a strong background working within the foster and adoption community, providing clinical support to youth and adults navigating complex emotional and relational dynamics. My work focuses on helping clients identify and shift unhelpful patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that impact self-worth, relationships, and overall well-being.
I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore who they are, build insight, and develop the tools needed to move toward meaningful change. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Widener University and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simpson University.
I practice from a trauma-informed lens, utilizing attachment-based, emotionally-focused, and person-centered therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to meet each client’s needs. I support individuals in cultivating self-compassion, resilience, & healthier relationships, starting with how they relate to themselves.

"Awareness creates choice. When we understand the inner critic and the patterns that shape us, meaningful change becomes possible."

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I entered the field of counseling because I believe mental health care is essential to living a fulfilling and connected life. Through my own experiences with life challenges and loss, I saw firsthand the powerful impact therapy can have. That experience inspired me to dedicate my work to helping others overcome barriers, deepen self-understanding, and build the relationships and lives they desire.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with individuals who are curious about themselves and motivated to grow. Clients who want to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns, particularly as they relate to relationships, self-worth, and life transitions, often find the work to be especially impactful.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with individuals who are open to self-reflection and seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges, heal from past experiences, and move forward in ways that feel meaningful to them.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that therapy is a process, not a formula or a destination. Growth happens over time, and worth is not measured by productivity, performance, or outcomes. You are valuable simply because you are you.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of its commitment to accessible, high-quality, and comprehensive mental health care. The collaborative model allows clients to receive support that considers the whole person, with access to additional services as needed, such as medication management.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect a supportive, validating, and compassionate environment. We will begin building a safe and empowering therapeutic relationship while exploring your current concerns and goals. I will listen closely and collaborate with you to identify next steps that feel manageable and meaningful.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My primary goal is for clients to feel heard, understood, and supported. By the end of the session, I hope clients leave with a sense of hope, clarity, and confidence in taking the next steps toward their goals.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works from a compassionate, trauma-informed perspective. My goal in every session is to help clients feel comfortable, respected, and empowered to prioritize their mental health and well-being. I believe each person’s experiences are unique, and I approach every client with empathy, curiosity, and hope.
What do you do for fun or on your time off?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and traveling to visit family. I love exploring beautiful places and attending sporting events, especially baseball, which has always been a favorite of mine.
