I graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision at St. Mary’s University, with the goal of becoming a counseling professor. I am a culturally integrative LPC-Associate in Texas with clinical experience in university counseling, private group practice, and community clinic settings. I have developed a strong affinity for working with young adults navigating identity development and life transitions, first-generation Asian Americans, and individuals experiencing feeding and eating disorders.

My therapeutic approach is creative and collaborative, incorporating Sandtray and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients explore emotions and experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported while developing skills to navigate life’s stressors and challenges.

I believe that therapy is a space where you should feel seen, heard, and supported. I strive to create a warm and collaborative environment where you can explore your experiences, emotions, identity, and the challenges you may be navigating. Wherever you are in your journey, I hope to meet you with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment.

"As a child growing up with immigrant parents, I experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating and balancing different cultures."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a counselor because I know what it feels like to struggle with identity, family expectations, and belonging without always having the support to make sense of those experiences. Growing up as an Asian American with immigrant parents, I often felt caught between cultural worlds. These experiences shaped my desire to create a space where others can feel understood, supported, and accepted for who they are. I hope to walk alongside clients as they navigate their own identities, relationships, and life transitions.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I especially enjoy working with young adults navigating identity development, life transitions, and questions about belonging. I also have a particular interest in working with firstgeneration Asian Americans and individuals experiencing feeding and eating concerns. I welcome clients who may be exploring their cultural identity, navigating family expectations, or trying to better understand themselves and their experiences.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I want my clients to know is that they do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. You do not need to know exactly what you are feeling, what you need, or where to begin. We can take that first step together, at your own pace, in a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

During our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and learning what brought you to therapy. We will talk about your experiences, goals, and what you hope to gain from counseling. I may ask questions to better understand your story and what you are currently navigating, but there is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to discuss. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and supported as we begin building our therapeutic relationship together.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My experiences growing up as an Asian American with immigrant parents have deeply shaped how I approach counseling. Navigating different cultural expectations and feeling caught between cultural worlds taught me the importance of feeling seen, understood, and accepted. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to practicing with cultural humility, curiosity, and compassion. I value creating a collaborative space where clients can explore their identity, experiences, and emotions without judgment and feel empowered to define what is meaningful to them.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe therapy should be tailored to each client rather than taking a onesize-fits-all approach. I take time to understand each client’s experiences, values, culture, goals, and what feels most comfortable for them. From there, I collaboratively adapt my approach and interventions to meet their needs. When appropriate, I incorporate creative approaches such as Sandtray and mindfulnessbased techniques to help clients explore experiences that may be difficult to express through words alone.
