About Emmanuel
Emmanuel Robinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 9 years of experience working with adolescents and adults ages 14-60+ who have a range of concerns including trauma, environmental stressors, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, behavioral problems, and mood disorders. Emmanuel also has extensive experience working with youths & families who have been involved in the juvenile system.
Emmanuel received his Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Houston Victoria. He utilizes a variety of approaches targeted to specific needs, including trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and motivational interviewing. Emmanuel works through a client-centered lens.

Get to know Emmanuel
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have been called to serve. Throughout my life, the Lord has placed me in positions to be of service to people. My life experiences from surviving to now being in place of thriving, even more so provides me the ability to meet the client's where they are, yet still holding that unique outlook of empathy to assist in the work required for their personal growth.
What types of clients do you work with best?
The clients I work best with is adolescents (14years) to grown adults 60+ years.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew they deserve healing. Their life is precious and meaningful. Be ready to work.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
The members of the team. My very first interaction with Heather resonated with me. I prayed about the decision and my belief in God, allows me to trust the faithfulness in Him that guide and leads me to where I am supposed to be.
What inspires you?
What inspires me is being a father and helping people be better.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Empathetic listening and Transparency. As well as some good jokes.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Building trust and a safe environment for the client. What are the client goals?
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Be open to grow. Growth from the physical aspect is stretching, pulling, uncomfortable, and maybe even painful. However, that is a requirement in the mental aspect to reach the greatness in you.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Relaxation with family and watching sports. I also do yoga and love to grill while listening to Bob Marley.
